All About Niches

A niche is the role of an organism or species within an ecosystem or its habitat. Their role within their habitat is their niche. Down below are three organisms and their niches.

Wasps play many important in an ecosystem. Wasps help in the production of pollunating flowers along with bees. Ironically Wasps actually kill and eat bees as one of their prime food source. The niche of a wasps is quite similar to the niche of a bee. A wasp takes nectar from flowers and fight of pests that try to inhabite the flower. Another Niche of a wasp that is similar to the niche of a bee is that wasps use their stinger to sting if the wasp feels threatned and has the need to protect the colony.

Mallard ducks are very commonly seen in temperate decidous forest areas like North America,Europe,Adia and even Australia. The niches of a mallard duck are feeding on algae,pants and insects,Migrating north during cold winter months aswell as being a food source for many predators.

Within an ecosystem frogs filter water that they inhabite aswell as keep a balance to an ecosytem by consuming inscets like mosquitos,mosquito larva,flies and etc. Frogs lay eggs within both land and water and are also a food source for many other oransims.
